How much is it likely to cost me?
The cost of a website can vary widely based on several factors, including its complexity, design, and functionality. Here’s a breakdown of typical cost components:
Design and Development
Custom designs can range from £400 to £4,000 or more, depending on the level of customisation, the size of the site and the functionality required.
Content Management
If you plan to manage your site yourself after it's built, there may be additional costs for training. Otherwise, if your site has dynamic content or requires frequent updates, you may need to budget for regular maintenance and updates.
Functionality
Adding features like e-commerce capabilities, user accounts, or advanced integrations can increase costs significantly.
Hosting and Domain
Expect to pay £40 to £100 annually for hosting. And depending on the domain required you can expect to pay approximately £10 a year for a .co.uk managed domain registration. Some domains, like .com or .org are more expensive.
Maintenance and Updates
Ongoing support and updates can vary depending on the level of service required. With a small site adhoc support should be adequate at around £20 an hour, but for larger sites you may need regular support and maintenance starting at £25 per month.
